Arthur, lost their lives in a fatal car accident on a rural road outside Scantton. Their sudden passing has left family, friends, and the entire town deeply saddened.
Remembering Maddie Arthur
Born on February 5, 2008, in Clarksville, Arkansas, Maddie was a vibrant 17-year-old high school student at Scantton High School. She was an emerging star academically, athletically, and in leadership, eagerly preparing for her senior year. Maddie was set to serve as the Chairperson of the Scantton FFA chapter for the 2025–2026 school year, where her passion for agriculture and love of animals made her a dedicated and respected member.
In addition to her academic and leadership achievements, Maddie excelled in sports as a valued member of the Scantton High basketball and golf teams. Coaches and teammates alike praised her talent, sportsmanship, and positive attitude. Her energy and spirit were contagious, making her a beloved figure both on and off the field.
Maddie was also an active member of the youth group at the First Baptist Church of Scantton, where her faith was central to her life. She regularly participated in church activities and community service projects, always eager to help others. Her kindness and commitment to serving her community earned her great respect.
Beyond school and church, Maddie worked at Walmart in Paris, Arkansas, where she was known for her integrity and dedication. Co-workers spoke fondly of her warmth and respect toward everyone she met.
Maddie’s love of the outdoors brought her joy through fishing, hiking, and simply appreciating nature’s beauty. Her independent spirit and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures were evident in all she did.
Family and Legacy
Maddie is survived by her parents, J. Arthur and Britney (Cox) Arthur, her younger brother Jess D. Arthur, and extended family including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Arthur family is devastated by the loss of Maddie and Mackenzie.
A memorial service to honor Maddie’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Scantton High School Gymnasium. Arrangements are under the care of Roller Funeral Home in Paris, with Rev. Kolbi Hai officiating.
