Born on May 23, 1961, in Madison, Wisconsin, Mike was the son of John “Fitz” Fitzpatrick and Mary Jane (Sweeney) Fitzpatrick. He grew up in Shorewood Hills, cultivating lifelong friendships and memories. A proud member of the Madison West High School Class of 1979, Mike stayed actively connected with his classmates, helping organize reunions and gatherings to celebrate enduring friendships.
Career and Community Impact
Mike worked in Customer Service at Costco in Sun Prairie, where his upbeat personality and problem-solving skills made him a beloved colleague. Known as a “jack of all trades,” he generously lent his talents to fix things for friends, family, and coworkers alike.
Personal Life and Passions
Beyond work, Mike was a man of remarkable warmth and spirit. His compassionate nature made him a trusted friend and confidant. His signature “fat and sassy” personality brought joy and laughter wherever he went.

Family and Survivors
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mona Nye (Ira); sister-in-law Judy Fitzpatrick; and other relatives. He is survived by his adopted daughter, Adrianne (Shane Sr.) Sundby, and her children Parker and Shane Jr., whom he adored.
He is also survived by his brother Patrick Fitzpatrick and nieces Colleen, Kelly, and Kathleen; five sisters—Marie Bjork, Maureen Andreozzi, Monica Arredondo, Molly Anicete, and Margaret Klinger—and their children and grandchildren. Mike leaves behind numerous great-nieces and nephews, uncles Mike Fitzpatrick and Dave Morgan, and many cousins.
