Born on January 23, 1999, to Larry and Becky Kula Schrader, Cassie was known from an early age for her vibrant spirit and boundless energy. A proud graduate of Benton Community High School in 2017, she was involved in dance and cheerleading for many years, expressing her joyful soul through movement and performance.
Cassie’s warmth extended into her work life, with friendly faces regularly seeing her as a cashier at Hy-Vee and Casey’s. Her infectious smile and caring attitude made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike.
A Devoted Mother and Family-Centered Woman
Above all, Cassie’s greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Sophia Idaleigh Schrader. Her role as a mother defined her, and she gave her heart fully to providing Sophia with love, guidance, and comfort. Those who knew Cassie could see the deep bond she shared with her daughter—one rooted in unconditional love.
Cassie’s nurturing nature also shone through in her close relationships with her family. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and partner—someone whose love and loyalty were constants in the lives of those closest to her.
Passion for Animals and a Dream to Help
Cassie’s compassion wasn’t limited to people—she was also an avid animal lover. She dreamed of becoming a veterinarian and spent time caring for and advocating for animals. Her family fondly recalls her deep affection for elephants and her love of the color purple, both of which symbolized the gentle strength and vibrant personality that defined her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Beverly Schrader; maternal grandparents, Bob Gulbro and Mary Bailey; and her uncle, Daniel Schrader.
Visitation and Funeral Arrangements
A public visitation will take place on Friday, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. A private family burial will follow at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, honoring the family’s wishes.
Friends and family are encouraged to gather to celebrate Cassie’s life, share memories, and find comfort in each other during this time of deep loss.
