Born on February 14, 1957, to Robert and Margaret Stinson, Bill grew up in Indianapolis, where he excelled in athletics and academics. A talented track and field athlete at North Central High School, Bill earned a scholarship to Butler University, where he graduated with honors in 1979, majoring in business administration.
Throughout his college years, Bill was active in his fraternity, Sigma Chi, and committed himself to community service, laying the foundation for a lifetime of giving back. His efforts were recognized in 2015 when Butler University awarded him the Distinguished Alumni Award for Community Leadership.
A Devoted Family Man and Community Advocate
Bill’s love for his family and community was unwavering. In June 1980, he married Maria Lopez, and together they built a life filled with love and mutual respect. Their 45-year marriage was a model of partnership, and they raised two children, Christopher and Rebecca, who also carry on Bill’s values of hard work and kindness. Bill’s five grandchildren were a constant source of joy, and he passed down his passion for woodworking to them through weekend projects.

For over 40 years, Bill led the company with vision, earning a reputation for quality and customer care. He also volunteered as a youth soccer coach at Riverside Park, where he became affectionately known as “Coach Stinson.”

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, from 2–6 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home in Indianapolis. The funeral service will take place on Monday, April 28, at 10 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, followed by burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow at the West Pavilion.
