For reasons still under investigation, she collided head-on with a 2020 Infiniti QX50 SUV traveling in the correct direction. The force of the crash resulted in life-threatening injuries for Caldwell, who was transported to Hartford Hospital but later pronounced dead.

The other driver, a woman from East Hartford, suffered minor injuries and was also transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no other passengers were reported in either vehicle.
